Morton Q. Levin founded Levin Group, Inc. in 1977, after having been engaged for ten years in the private practice of law and real estate development. In connection with real estate development, he is experienced in site selection and acquisition, securing local governmental approvals, securing construction and permanent financing, and the completion of construction and rent-up. His real estate experience is in multi-family housing, land development, industrial warehouses and retail shopping centers.
Mort’s commitment to the Cleveland community is evidenced by his involvement in several community organizations. In August of 2008, he was appointed by Governor Ted Strickland to the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland State University. His commitment to Cleveland State University includes a 20-year involvement with the Cleveland State University Foundation (Board of Directors), the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs (Visiting Committee), and the Albert A. and Maxine G. Levin Advisory Committee (Chairperson). He is the immediate past President of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and has been a Board Member for eight years. He has also served and has been involved on the Boards and committees of the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Community Federation, Jewish Big Brothers, University of Michigan College of LS&A Visiting Committee, Cleveland Music School Settlement, Cleveland Restoration Society, Shaker Heights High School Sports Booster Club and the Tom Evert Dance Company.
